Description
"Arranged objects: a few good bones" is an exhibition featuring three poets from the Grand Valley Writers Series: Ander Monson, Patricia Clark, and Maggie Smith. Objects can be vehicles of memory and grief as well as recorded language. The poems are engraved, laid on the center table. Viewers have the ability to take rubbings, creating their own objects as a memory of the engraved poems. Images of the poems are on the walls, featuring cut out letters hand arranged. The act of methodically arranging letters, recognizing the physical origins of language, prompts playful composition and embraces the imperfect nature of human creations.
Exhibit sponsored by University Libraries and designed and curated by Morgan Hayden.
