1. What has your journey been since graduation?
After graduating in December 2010, I accepted a job with Aimbridge Hospitality and moved to Chicago. With five years of experience and three promotions at that hotel property under my belt I was ready for my next step. In August 2016, I joined Hilton Worldwide as a Senior Event Manager to open the Conrad Chicago Hotel.

2. How has Grand Valley had a role in your journey?
Grand Valley's HTM program was vital for my career. I gained so much experience through the required internships and was able to build my resume, so that I was ready to begin a career shortly after graduating. I met so many wonderful friends, who I'm still in touch with today, through my internships with the Disney College Program and the HTM Study Abroad Program in Italy.

3. What is your favorite Grand Valley memory?
2008 – HTM Study Aboard Program in Italy!

4. What three words describe your experience at Grand Valley?
Inspired, Exceptional, Exciting.

5. How, and why, have you stayed involved with Grand Valley since graduation?
For the past two years, I participated and assisted in the planning and execution of the annual HTM Student Chicago Trip for students who are looking to move to Chicago after graduation. I have also enjoyed networking with fellow alumni at our Chicago Club events.

6. Why are you proud to be a Laker for a Lifetime?
My time at Grand Valley shaped who I am today. I gained so many experiences and friendships through the HTM program during my time at Grand Valley and after graduation.

7. What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy staying active and being outdoors by participating in triathlons and marathons, skiing, playing with my bernese mountain dog puppy, camping, swimming, hiking and traveling to new and exciting places, and experiencing other cultures.

8. What is your favorite quote/motto to live by?
Hakuna Matata.

9. What motivates you?
I constantly find ways to push myself further and to achieve more. Setting goals motivates me to be a better person.

10. What book or movie have you recently enjoyed?
I'm in a book club and we recently read "Beneath a Scarlet Sky." It's a crazy story of a young man's experiences in Italy during World War II.
