I recently graduated in April 2019, so I'm just getting started on my journey as a GVSU alum! I currently work in luxury property management with Brookstone Realty Management, and cannot wait to start this new chapter as an alumna of Grand Valley!

Grand Valley completed that missing piece in my life, a home. I have had many homes in my life, but Grand Valley was one of the most stable. I was able to be myself, and explore my interests and what I wanted to do with my life.

Without Grand Valley, I wouldn't have landed the job at the Clerk/Register of Deeds office. I was encouraged to apply to their internship program during my Junior year and I got the internship!

After graduation, I moved to Fort Myers, Florida, for two years where I taught 2nd and 4th grade. In 2016, I moved to Riverview, Florida, where I was hired to teach 4th grade math and science.

I have spoken on alumni panels to undergraduates about my experience there, things I wish I would have known, and given career advice. I am looking forward to being more involved with Grand Valley in the years to come.

I have stayed connected with the OT department after graduation, volunteered at various GVSU events, and I currently serve as a Board Member on the Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Rob Hanel, '06

I am now the Head of Human Resources for TentCraft Inc., which is a manufacturing company back here in my hometown of Traverse City, Michigan.

Grand Valley continues to have a role in my journey by offering alumni groups like the Latin@ Alumni Association, volunteer, leadership, and professional development opportunities to continue my involvement with the institution and its students.

Amber Ravikumar, '14, '16

Since graduation, I have had the opportunity to serve children and families of Kent County. First, as a home based therapist and a KSSN Clinician. And second, as a Services Specialist with Kent County Community Mental Health.

Taylor Farella, '10

Grand Valley's HTM program was vital for my career. I gained so much experience through the required internships and was able to build my resume, so that I was ready to begin a career shortly after graduating.
