We are proud to offer our undergraduates research opportunities that are generally only available to graduate students at other universities. Grand Valley even sponsors research grants for undergraduate students. The Students Summer Scholars program provides $6,000 grants for summer research with Grand Valley faculty members.
There are great opportunities for graduate students at Grand Valley. Many of our graduates have the opportunity to conduct research with faculty or pursue internships at local companies, providing a wide range of professional experiences. Graduate students can receive research grants from Grand Valley as well as funding to attend professional conferences. In addition, students who conduct research may participate in our annual Graduate Showcase.

For students who need English preparation assistance before starting at Grand Valley, the ELS Language Center is a great option. Located on our Allendale Campus, ELS Language Centers is America's leading provider of English language instruction. ELS offers four-week-long English courses at 12 different levels. Undergraduate students may fulfill Grand Valley's English requirement by completing level 112 in the ELS curriculum. To attend ELS Language Center, you need to submit a separate application to ELS. A graduate assistantship is a work opportunity offered to graduate students. Graduate assistantships provide graduate students with part-time, paid work experiences in their field of study, and allow them to expand and/or apply their discipline knowledge and skills.
